We would like to congratulate all citizens of the Republic of Serbia and all Serbs around the world on the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia. This day is an important state, but also religious holiday when a miraculous event in the Jerusalem Temple is celebrated.
Not only did the struggle for the final liberation of Serbia from centuries of slavery begin on this day in 1804, but it is also the day when the Constitution was adopted a few decades later. The Sretensky Constitution is a symbol of the desire to measure our own freedom and justice, but not to deprive others of that same freedom and justice. Such a view of state organization was considered a political avant-garde at the time.
