Given that even 64% of Serbian citizens use their mobile phones most often during the day, it is not surprising that sending SMS messages for participation in humanitarian actions is so widespread among our citizens. In our large nationally representative survey, as many as 80.7% of all respondents stated that they used to send or actively still send SMS for humanitarian purposes. It is also the fastest and simplest way to send humanitarian aid. 19.3% of them state that they did not do so.
Women (86%) send humanitarian SMS more often than men (75.1%), while residents of both rural and urban areas send SMS equally.
In the West of Serbia, residents most often participate in these humanitarian calls, as many as 83.8%, slightly less in the North (80.1%), the South (79.9%) and Belgrade (78.9%).
