The Serbian National Internet Domain Registry (RNIDS) has published data that 54% of entrepreneurs do not have an Internet presence. This topic is on Saturday, the 5th. On April 1st, our director Miljan Premović, an expert in marketing and consumer experience, spoke live with Zoran Milidrag from the eCommerce Association on the First Channel of Radio Television of Serbia.
According to Miljan Premović, the fact that 54% of entrepreneurs do not have an Internet presence is a good example of how data can be misinterpreted. At first glance, it could be interpreted that half of entrepreneurs do not have a website, that they are electronically illiterate, backward, etc. It was added that the structure of entrepreneurs in Serbia has three large groups and several smaller ones. The first is one that operates independently like any small or micro business. The second is dependent, i.e. those who work as subcontractors or sell services for two or more larger companies. The third is our (IT) experts who use a model prescribed by the state so they can legally do work for foreign companies.
So, it’s hard to say that IT professionals are technologically illiterate and that an analyst who does data processing for two companies has a significant website.
Also, an entrepreneur who, for example, For example, if you have a popular and successful fast food restaurant in a certain part of town, the top priority is not the website, but how to maintain quality, retain employees, and ensure the best possible supply chain. It’s more important for him to take care of Google reviews than the website. We also have entrepreneurs who are only engaged on social media and do not have a website. Don’t they understand how online sales work?
On the other hand, the quality of the content of existing websites is questionable… On the third hand, online sales in Serbia are growing year after year. An online presentation can solve a hundred problems in an organization and is not just for sales.
